I need to listen to something to relax

- Podcast - Song Exploder
"For music fans (and possible future songwriters?), this podcast has musicians take apart their own song and explain how they were made. It mostly focuses on indie rock acts, but guests have everyone from FKA Twigs to K-pop Star Eric Nam to '90s radio staple Semisonic."
- Podcast - Dear Hank & John
"The 'Hank' and 'John' in this case are, of course, Hank Green and John Green, brothers, authors, and YouTubers. On their podcast, they answer questions like how to quit a job, how to find time to do little things, and can bees feel happiness and sadness."
- Audio - Listen to Lo-Fi Hip Hop
You can look up Lo-Fi and ASMR if you just need to relax with some background sounds. I really like @ASMR Rooms on YouTube because they have themed ASMR's that are also gorgeous to look at!
- Audio - Listen to Lo-Fi Hip Music but Make It Anime
It's the same as the above, but this one is fun Lo-Fi with Sasuke from Naruto at the desk! The end goal is to find something you enjoy listening to, so do you! Try out a room for fans of JuJutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Sailor Moon, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball Z, Haikyu!!, Bleach, or Ouran High School Host Club.
- Audio - Virtually Visit your Favorite Fantasy World
This link will send you to my personal favorite ASMR setting - AmbientWorld's "The Ancestral Plane" which was made in honor of Chadwick Boseman's memory and legacy. AmbientWorld's has a ton of other cool places to visit. Consider relaxing at Pride Rock or at Rivendell's Court. Other cool options could be: Moana's shores, Stark Tower, The Black Pearl, or The Northern Water Tribel
- Audio - Listen to your favorite playlist
Also, feel free to send me recommendations!

What are things I can do?

- Hold Space with an Adult
Do you need a trusted adult to talk to? Email your teacher or your adult in the building, if you're comfortable.
For City of Medicine Students specifically, if you'd be more comfortable holding space with a trusted guidance counselor or our awesome social worker - please write them an email. If you need help getting in touch with someone, let me know!- Take a deep breath - Click on the link for breathing exercises
You can also search up deep breathing exercises on YouTube for free! Borrowed from https://comfort4you.carrd.co.
- Get a Virtual Hug
In case you need a socially distant hug!
- Community Service - Write a letter to an elder in isolation
I, Ms. Weidman, am a volunteer at Letters Against Isolation, an initiative created by Shreya & Saffron Patel to send anonymous letters to elderly folks who need a letter - a handwritten note is a wonderful gift to receive and a delightfully cheap thing to do for another person.
- Get lost in 100,000 Stars
You can follow the link to do a self-tour or guided tour of the solar system. Borrowed from https://thesafeplace.carrd.co/
- Dance with Hamsters
Just a bunch of furry little animated hamsters dancing - the cool thing is that you could bop along, too, and only you would know :)
- Take an absolutely random quiz for fun
This one has a huge database of characters that gives you an idea of what fictional characters you might be like if you're interested
- Koalas to the Max
Visit this site made by Vadim Ogievetsky and Annie Albagli and use your cursor over the dots for a soothing treat! Borrowed from https://thesafeplace.carrd.co/

From the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., you can take the time to browse and learn all from the comfort of your device.
- 60-second meditation
Marc Balaban created this one-minute meditation to help you get lost in the vastness of the sky. Borrowed from https://thesafeplace.carrd.co/
- Watch a wholesome TikTok
I like this one of a zookeeper feeding big cats but do you!
- Doodle Something
Here's a video but you can doodle anything with a pencil! Plus there are a ton of tutorials on TikTok and YouTube you can watch for free!
- 25/5 Pomodoro Study Session with The Sherry Formula
Need help studying? Try the Pomodoro method in the link - it has fun LoFi beats and also has a timer to study and when to take a break.
Borrowed from Ms. Kiara Thorpe, M.Ed.
- Exercise
Can you go for a walk or stretch? Can you look up stretches or fitness on YouTube?
- Read, Read, Read!
I know as an English teacher this is a given, but you can read whatever you want. If you need help accessing digital books from our library, please let me know. Also remember, it doesn't have to be a typical novel to count! Read a manga or comic or fanfiction if you prefer!
- Journal
Remember, a journal doesn't have to be a physical space - you can even have a journal digitally on GoogleDocs.
- Write down 3 things that you're grateful for
I personally do this every day - these don't have to be grand things - sometimes it may just be that you woke up this morning or that you're happy the sun is still in the sky.
- Give Yourself a Pat on the Back
I know that's probably cheesy advice, but you're here and doing the things and that makes me really proud. You're awesome!
